About the Palestine Center for Peace

The Palestine Center for Peace, an initiative of the Australian Friends of Palestine Association (AFOPA), is a unique Palestinian shop and resource centre in the heart of Adelaide, South Australia.

Established in December 2015 and officially launched by Bethlehem Mayor Dr Vera Baboun on 10 May 2016, the Centre connects South Australians with Palestinian culture, heritage, craftsmanship, and the people behind the products.

Our shop brings the beauty, creativity, and traditions of Palestine to Australia through a carefully selected range of Palestinian products, including traditional crafts, tatreez embroidery, keffiyehs, art, books, gifts, and other items celebrating Palestinian culture and identity.

Every purchase is an opportunity to connect with Palestinian artisans, traders, workers, and families, and to support the preservation of cultural traditions and livelihoods. More Than a Shop

The Palestine Center for Peace is part of AFOPA’s broader commitment to Palestinian freedom, self-determination, and justice.

Based on Kaurna Yerta in South Australia, AFOPA is a grassroots, member-based organisation that organises, educates, and advocates to advance Palestinian rights. Through community organising, public education, campaigns, and collective action, we work to strengthen the Palestine solidarity movement and challenge Australia’s complicity in Israel’s system of apartheid.

The Centre extends this work by creating a welcoming space where people can discover Palestinian culture, access educational resources, and deepen their understanding of Palestine and its people.
