STORY

Palestinian floor tiles reached the height of their domestic popularity in the 1930s when many urban homes throughout Palestine had their floors decorated with intricate floral and geometric patterns. In the last 10 years, there has been a growing appreciation of these tiles with people thinking of them as a tradition, a heritage, something that reminds them of their past and their roots. They used to be a necessity and people liked their durability, but now they are seen in a new perspective.

This daftar ('notebook') is a Palestinian-designed and produced notebook. The patterns are inspired by the Palestinian floor tiles, which are important aesthetic symbols. By simplifying the geometries and transforming them into the pages of a notebook, they become an illustrative platform for your thoughts and ideas.
